Senior Marketing Communications Specialist
Location: Hybrid - 3 days in office - 2 days remote (British Columbia)
At IRSSS, we are committed to supporting survivors and families impacted by the residential school system and advancing truth, healing, and reconciliation. We are seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Specialist to help us share this vital mission with the world.
About the RoleThis senior position is a cornerstone of our Communications Department, combining strategic leadership, marketing technology expertise, and storytelling. You will guide the implementation of marketing systems, oversee brand integrity, and lead projects that amplify survivor voices and community engagement.
What You’ll Do- Develop and execute strategic marketing plans and KPIs with the Communications Manager.
- Implement and optimize marketing technology (CRM, automation, analytics).
- Oversee brand governance and ensure cultural sensitivity in all communications.
- Provide editorial oversight and manage high-level content approvals.
- Analyze campaign performance and drive data-informed decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, donors, and media partners to deliver impactful campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of marketing automation, CRM, and analytics systems.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining confidentiality.
- Cultural competence and respect for Indigenous communities.
- Diploma or degree in communications, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years in a mid- to senior-level marketing role with a focus on digital systems.
- Experience managing brand compliance and marketing infrastructure.
- Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (oversight-level).
- Nonprofit or Indigenous organization experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
