Marketing Communications Brand Specialist

As a health and wellness organization, the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS) has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021 (and FNHA). We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at IRSSS. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.

As a Marketing Communications Brand Specialist at IRSSS, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our strategic goals through comprehensive communication and marketing activities. Reporting to the IRSSS Communications Manager, you will be at the forefront of content management, development, and monitoring across various platforms, including websites, social media channels, collateral, media releases, and print. Your primary responsibility will be serving as IRSSS's digital community manager, ensuring a cohesive and engaging online presence. Additionally, you will contribute to brand management and quality control, collaborating with the Communications Manager on projects, events, and other requirements as needed.
 
Duties Include:
 
·      Drive product and service promotion efforts.
·      Contribute to developing impactful marketing materials.
·      Assist in planning and executing diverse events.
·      Contribute to crafting engaging newsletter content.
·      Analyze and optimize campaign effectiveness.
·      Actively engage in industry networking opportunities.
·      Enhance brand visibility both online and offline.
·      Manage client communications and marketing requirements.
·      Analyze and interpret campaign reports effectively.
·      Collaborate seamlessly on cross-functional initiatives.
·      Lead data collection and insightful analysis.
·      Coordinate seasonal promotions with precision.
·      Ensure accuracy and effectiveness across social media platforms.
·      Cultivate and nurture key stakeholder relationships.
·      Utilize advanced analytics for campaign optimization.
·      Spearhead channel optimization strategies.
·      Drive continuous improvement recommendations.
·      Uphold and enhance brand reputation proactively.
 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
  • Exceptional Writing Skills: Demonstrated ability to craft engaging and on-brand content across various formats with strong proofreading capabilities, grammar expertise, and attention to detail.
  • Creative Aesthetic Acumen: Possesses a keen eye for design, typography, and overall aesthetic, capable of managing brand image in alignment with stylistic guidelines.
  • Organizational and Multitasking Skills: Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multitask, meet deadlines consistently, and contribute to quality control processes.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in basic HTML and capable of performing basic website updates. Demonstrates a strong foundation in marketing knowledge, with expertise in online marketing and various marketing channels.
  • Social Media Proficiency: Active social media user with in-depth knowledge of relevant and emerging social media platforms. Experience with online monitoring and measurement tools, including interpreting website traffic and online customer engagement metrics.
  • Community Engagement: Ability to identify and track relevant digital community metrics, such as repeat event attendance. Skilled in professionally moderating and responding to online and offline conversations within our communities promptly.
  • Relationship Building: People-person with excellent communication skills, passionate and articulate. Capable of analyzing the implications of online communications and messages. Keen on building relationships with customers, potential customers, social influencers, industry professionals, and media.
 
Education and Experience:
 
  • Diploma or degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role. Proven experience managing multiple social online platforms and tools.
  • Knowledge or experience working in an Indigenous and/or non-profit environment. Hospitality or customer service experience is an asset.
  • Graphic design experience, particularly with Adobe Creative software, is a strong asset.
  • Video and photography editing/production skills is a strong asset.
  • High computer proficiency; able to quickly learn new skills and software with minimal training is a characteristic supplemented by an aptitude for detailed work, ability to follow instructions, and possession of basic analytical skills.
  • Must be highly organized, flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Skilled in time management and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Ability to keep a good recording system.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to establish rapport with people of all educational and occupational backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain a healthy working relationship with staff, community representatives/members and representatives of other organizations. Including collaboration with other IRSSS programs and staff as required.
  • Maintain the confidentiality guidelines of all records, materials and communications concerning clients, staff and IRSSS.
 
Term: Full-Time Term Position
Location: Vancouver – Vancouver Public Library Office.
Salary: $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 to start and dependent on experience.
Benefits: Annual Leave, Wellness Days, after 90 days - Employer paid benefits plan and GIC matched savings.
Status: Hybrid – Minimum 60% in office requirement.
